You can almost feel the salty air and hear the crashing waves in this beautiful study of a day at a rugged Northern California beach. And while the sea crashes, and ebbs, and offers its kelp, Noah's daughter stands resolute at its powerful edge. An exquisite composition at once dramatic and calm.

This series of plein air pastels were done over the course of many years (from roughly 2014 through to 2021) and feature Noah's growing children in the surrounding Northern California wilderness. Nupastels on sketchbook paper.
