If I was going to do advertising, I wanted it to be more creative or more modern or something.  And then I also felt like illustrations could be fine art.. And fine art could be an illustration. I felt like there shouldn't be a line drawn between them. I wanted to do both, but if you tried to do both, you ended up doing neither. So I kind of made a decision the second year (of art school) to not worry about the commercial art classes. And I took watercolor another painting class photography, and had a good time.

A lot of my paintings had these kind of big flat washes - often blue or gray. That represent sky and then sometimes a ground, a horizon - earth and sky or water and sky.
