Tia Wallace Kratter

"A lot of my work in my 9 to 5 job involved textures and colors. Over the years that subconsciously has transferred into these odd subjects that I happen to love painting. My underlying notion is: how do I iconify the most simple, basic objects?"

TIA WALLACE KRATTER has worked in feature animation art departments at Disney, then Pixar, then Disney again. Her vast credits include Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Brave, Turning Red, and Zootopia 2, among many others. She is the author of The Color of Pixar. She lives in the Bay area with her artist husband Paul Kratter and uses watercolor in part because its chaotic, uncontrollable nature is a challenge she simply cannot resist.
